Black History Month Concert
The “Second Time Around Band” aka Texarkana Community Band plays Monday, Feb. 9, 7 p.m., at the Pleasant Grove Performing Arts Center. On tap for what’s also known as the Texarkana Community Band is music from Count Basie, Billy Strayhorn, Sonny Rollins, and Earth, Wind & Fire. They’ll also perform a Motown medley. Joining them will be the Josh Lawrence trio; they will get some Miles Davis brewing on stage. You won’t want to miss this one! Join us for an evening of celebrating African-American contributions to American Arts and Culture. Admission is free to the public.
If you play brass, woodwinds or percussion we need you!!!
Second Time Around Band aka Texarkana Community Band meets each Monday night at 7:00 PM at the Texas Middle School Band Hall. We play several concerts and community events throught the year. Come join the fun!

I'm a huge Sonny Rollins fan; and like the rest on that list pretty damn well too. :) Where exactly is the Pleasant Grove Performing Arts Center located?
